On March 3, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman, Senator Patrick Leahy,
\nheld a hearing on creating a nonpartisan "commission of inquiry" to
\ninvestigate wrongdoing during the eight years of the Bush
\nadministration. The proposed \u201cTruth Commission\u201d focuses on a number of
\nareas since 9-11 where the Bush administration broke the law in the
\n"war against terrorism". According to a statement released<\/a>
\nby Leahy, \u201cNothing has done more to damage America\u2019s place in the world
\nthan the revelation that this Nation stretched the law and the bounds
\nof executive power to authorize torture and cruel treatment.\u201d Six
\nexpert witnesses spoke at the hearing on behalf of or against Leahy\u2019s
\nproposed Truth Commission which he believes will help restore America\u2019s
\n\u201cmoral leadership.\u201d Leahy\u2019s proposal needs to be expanded to
\ninvestigate all wrong doing in the Bush administration. <\/strong>A
\nTruth Commission with a broad mandate can expose many areas in addition
\nto those pointed out by Leahy where laws were violated in classified
\nprograms. Getting witnesses to emerge to reveal these violations has
\nthe potential to expose many secrets, including unanswered questions about 9-11<\/a> and the facts behind the UFO phenomenon.<\/p>\n
