Photo AP<\/div>\n<p> During a February 9 speech at Georgetown University, Senate Judiciary Chairman, Senator Patrick Leahy <a href=\"http:\/\/thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com\/2009\/02\/09\/judiciary-chairman-calls-for-commission-to-delve-into-bush-practices\/\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">proposed the creation<\/a><br \/>\nof a Truth Commission to explore wrongdoing during the recent Bush<br \/>\nadministration.&#0160; The Truth Commission would focus on getting to the<br \/>\ntruth on a number of areas where Bush administration figures broke the<br \/>\nlaw. A Truth Commission has the potential to reveal much about the<br \/>\nsecret workings of the Bush administration. Significantly, it will<br \/>\nencourage many former officials, in exchange for amnesty, to testify<br \/>\nabout all they know and did.
