2002 Roper poll<\/a>
\non American beliefs and personal experiences on intelligent life on
\nother planets, using rigorous scientific polling methods, found that
\nabout half (48%) of U.S. adults believe that intelligent life from
\nother planets or dimensions is now visiting Earth, and that two-thirds
\n(67%) of U.S. adults believe in the existence of intelligent life
\nelsewhere in the Universe. <\/p>\n The Roper poll also found that
\n72% of U.S. Adults believe the U.S. government is not telling all it
\nknows about space craft or "unidentified flying objects" visiting
\nEarth. Fully 14% of Americans say they have had a close encounter
\nwith a space craft or "unidentified flying object."<\/p>\n
