Thomas Mantell Intercepting UFO: Photo:Wikimedia<\/div>\n<p>The<br \/>\nexistence of UFOs has long been denied to be a national security<br \/>\nconcern by spokespersons of the U.S. military and its major allies. For<br \/>\nexample, a U.S. Air Force <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ufoevidence.org\/documents\/doc1929.htm\" target=\"_blank\">fact sheet<\/a><br \/>\nupdated in 2003 says: \u201cNo UFO reported, investigated and evaluated by<br \/>\nthe Air Force was ever an indication of threat to our national<br \/>\nsecurity.\u201d Such a claim lacks credibility as evidence continues to<br \/>\nemerge of secret shoot down orders issued to Air Force pilots who<br \/>\nengage with UFOs.<\/p>\n<p>The latest evidence comes from Nick Pope, a retired<br \/>\n22 years civil servant for Britain\u2019s Ministry of Defense (MoD) who for<br \/>\nthree years headed its UFO desk.
