Is The Day the Earth Stood Still<\/em> fiction, or fact?<\/p>\n

The re-release of The Day the Earth Stood Still<\/em>,
\nwhich opens Friday, Dec. 12, and the original version from 1951, could
\nbe more factual than you think. For a more mind-blowing experience
\nwatching either version of this movie, view it as an historical
\ndocumentary, and not science fiction.<\/p>\n

Be careful though because
\nthe current movie trailer indicates a departure from the 1951 script.
\nInstead of portraying extraterrestrial beings as the peaceful
\nemissaries they historically have been in real life, Hollywood again
\nseems determined to impose its addiction to fictional violence on the
\nmasses.<\/p>\n

Boulder resident, Paola Harris<\/a>,
\nteaches a course about Hollywood\u2019s role in disclosing UFO information.
\nShe has proposed that the 1951 version of The Day the Earth Stood Still
\n(DESS) may have been the first collaboration between the military and
\nfilm industry. The goal was to get the public used to the reality that
\n\u201cwe are not alone\u201d.<\/p>\n

Many U.S. Presidents<\/a> have known about UFO\u2019s from \u201couter space\u201d. On February 22, 1944, President Franklin Roosevelt wrote a \u201cDouble Top Secret\u201d memorandum<\/a>
\nto the \u201cThe Special Committee on Non-Terrestrial Science and
\nTechnology\u201d. He wrote about using \u201c\u2026non-terrestrial know-how in atomic
\nenergy\u2026\u201d and  \u201c\u2026coming to grips with the reality that our planet is not
\nthe only one harboring intelligent life in the universe.\u201d<\/p>\n

The
\n1947 crash of a \u201cflying saucer\u201d in Roswell, NM was acknowledged by the
\nArmy on one day and denied the next day with a staged photo of some
\nman-made debris. But witnesses reported that there were bodies and
\ndebris not from Earth. At the time, Roswell Army Base was the only
\nauthorized location to store atomic bombs.<\/p>\n

The 1951 DESS movie
\ntakes place in Washington, D.C. with an ethical emissary from outer
\nspace seeking peaceful relations with Earth and warning world leaders
\nto not use atomic weapons. In real life, the following year in July
\n1952, numerous UFO\u2019s were seen hovering over the U.S. Capitol for
\nhours. Photos of the UFO\u2019s were part of front-page stories.<\/p>\n

On Feb. 20-21, 1954, President Eisenhower met representatives from another planet<\/a>. Dr. Michael Salla of the Exopolitics Institute<\/a>
\nhas offered details of this from eyewitnesses. The purpose of the
\nmeeting was to negotiate a treaty in which the extraterrestrial people
\ndemanded that the U.S. stop exploding atomic bombs. Eisenhower didn\u2019t
\ngo for it. Nine days later on March 1st, the U.S. exploded its largest
\nnuclear bomb to this day. The author of this article was born the same
\nday.<\/p>\n

Since then, many times extraterrestrial craft shut down nuclear missiles<\/a>
\nbeyond the control of base commanders. Some of these commanders have
\nspoken publicly about this on American television during 2008. But
\nthere was never any hostile intent by the alien crafts observed.<\/p>\n

So read a little about disclosure<\/a>
\nof UFO\u2019s and extraterrestrials. Then see if you can tell fact from
\nfiction in the old or new version of this movie. Most of all though,
\nhave fun.<\/p>\n
