April 1, 2013 – Yesterday Pope Francis I celebrated his first Easter Mass as the leader of the world\u2019s 1.2 billion Roman Catholics. In his first \u201cUrbi et Orbi\u201d speech \u2013 Latin for \u201cto the city [of Rome] and the world\u201d \u2013 he called for peace in the Middle East; an end to human trafficking and greed; preventing the exploitation of natural resources; and protecting animals by becoming \u201cresponsible guardians of creation.\u201d The Pope normally gives two Urbi et Orbi speeches each year where he deals with major challenges faced by the world and Christendom. In a future speech it has been predicted that he will discuss a unique challenge that the world faces according to the authors of a new book.
