Hoagland, a pioneer champion of NASA Viking Orbiter<br \/>\nsatellite photos of the Face on Mars at Cydonia as evidencing the product of an<br \/>\nancient, extinct Martian civilization, recently drew a public line in the<br \/>\nscientific sand regarding the evidence for the presence of current indigenous,<br \/>\nintelligent life on Mars.<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>In a March 8, 2010 email dialogue sponsored by Robert<br \/>\nMorningstar, editor of UFO Digest, on the subject of current Martian life,&#0160; Richard C. Hoagland stated emphatically:<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>Evidence&#8230; Show me evidence of CURRENT \u2018intelligent life on<br \/>\nMars.\u2019 :)&#0160; All we see are ruins&#8230;<br \/>\nliterally thousands of square miles &#8230; of ruins.&#0160; And, a lot of mud covering them &#8230; slowly<br \/>\neroding and blowing away in the wind.&#0160;<br \/>\nWhich is why we can now see glimpses [of] what was once buried in a<br \/>\nvast, planetary catastrophe \u2013 Which suddenly ENDED the Martian Civilization &#8230;<br \/>\na long, long time ago. Hoagland says that the available evidence<br \/>\nproves there is no current indigenous intelligent life on Mars (other than the<br \/>\nsecret U.S. space program), it is possible to present proof of the opposite of<br \/>\nthis assertion \u2013 i.e., that there is indigenous intelligent life currently on<br \/>\nMars. All sides of the debate about the existence of indigenous Martian<br \/>\nintelligent life deserve to be respectfully heard according to the methodology<br \/>\nof the law of evidence.<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>1. Presentation of documentary evidence &#8211; NASA rover Spirit<br \/>\nphotos<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Basiago has indicated that at public presentations of<br \/>\nthe MARS findings, on average about 75% of the audience can cognize and see the<br \/>\nindigenous Martian humanoids, animals, structures, and statues contained in<br \/>\nNASA rover photos.<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>At the November 2009 Barcelona Science and Spirit Conference<br \/>\npresentation by this reporter, 50% of the audience that was polled was able to<br \/>\nrecognize the indigenous Martian intelligent and animal life forms in the<br \/>\ndocumentary evidence contained in the PowerPoint included in this article. Therefore, one can say that the<br \/>\nprobable existence of indigenous intelligent Martian life was proven for 50% of<br \/>\nthe audience at Barcelona.<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>Why not a greater percentage of the audience?&#0160; Well, there is the matter of NASA<br \/>\ninterference with its rover images: NASA&#39;s seven deadly sins of data<br \/>\ndistortion.<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>NASA&#39;s seven deadly sins of data distortion <\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Basiago, in consultation with Emily Cragg, a former<br \/>\nimaging specialist for Xerox, has catalogued seven techniques that NASA is<br \/>\nusing to distort its own data from the surface of the Red Planet:<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>1. Scale.&#0160; Compress<br \/>\nvertical and horizontal dimension to make everything look ordinary;<\/p>\n<p>2.&#0160; Contrast.&#0160; Set light-and-dark ratio to extreme value or<br \/>\ninvert light and dark aspects altogether;<\/p>\n<p>3.&#0160; Color.&#0160; Add false hues and unnatural colors;<\/p>\n<p>4.&#0160; Skew.&#0160; Move forms out of vertical alignment;<\/p>\n<p>5. Consistency.&#0160; Paint<br \/>\nover to make a solid color look black, white, or opaque;<\/p>\n<p>6. Integrity.&#0160; Alter<br \/>\nnatural forms to look like forms that do not occur naturally;<\/p>\n<p>7. Content. Unlike the<br \/>\nearlier generation of Viking Orbiter satellites, which photographed the Martian<br \/>\nsurface from orbit around Mars, the Mars rovers can capture photographic<br \/>\nclose-ups, as well as composite landscapes of Mars, which contain images of<br \/>\napparent indigenous Martian life forms.<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>NASA\/Andrew D. Basiago &#8211; Two insect-human hybrids,<\/p>\n<p>scorpion-like body, human-like head, shoulders, arms<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>An evaluation of each sample of the MARS documentary<br \/>\nevidence reveals the following (Please refer to images in PowerPoint):<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>1. Documentary evidence from NASA PIA10214: Figure of<br \/>\nHumanoid Being (in center of photo leaning on rocks with back to rover camera)<br \/>\nin the Rock Enclosure on Tsiolkovski Ridge, Columbia Basin, Mars \u2013 This is a<br \/>\nclassic enhancement from NASA rover Spirit photograph PIA10214.&#0160; One of the documents at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.projectmars.net\" target=\"_blank\">www.projectmars.net<\/a><br \/>\ncontains step-by-step instructions as to how to locate this life form using<br \/>\none\u2019s own desktop or laptop computer and a copy of NASA photograph<br \/>\nPIA10214.&#0160; In the PowerPoint image, the<br \/>\nfigure of a Martian humanoid being has his back facing the rover Spirit camera,<br \/>\nand is leaning on the middle rock wall of the three-wall rock enclosure, as<br \/>\nthough on his knees.&#0160; The human appears<br \/>\nto be masculine and has spindly, flesh-colored arms and legs and a large, oval,<br \/>\nflesh-colored head, almost in the shape of some of the Gray extraterrestrial<br \/>\narchetypes.&#0160; He appears to be dressed, to<br \/>\nthis reporter, in turquoise- colored spandex-type pants.&#0160;&#0160; This is a reasonable conclusion this<br \/>\nreporter has reached after multiple viewings of this particular image since<br \/>\nDecember 2008.<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;There are three<br \/>\nprincipal typologies of humanoid beings on Mars.<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;&#0160;&#0160; The first<br \/>\ntypology, which I call Homo maris terris, are our genetic relatives from the<br \/>\ntime before the solar system catastrophe of 9,500 BC, when Earth and Mars were<br \/>\nin contact. They resemble bald, homely Earthlings. This is the type that my<br \/>\nfather and I met at Curtiss-Wright in 1970. They are human beings, like human<br \/>\nbeings from Earth. It was clear that by 1970 they both had a more advanced<br \/>\nspace-faring capability than we did on Earth and were working with the United<br \/>\nStates government.<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;&#0160;&#0160; The second<br \/>\ntypology, which I call Homo maris, are the indigenous Martian humanoids. They<br \/>\nhave narrower heads, pointier ears, longer fingers, and smaller bodies than<br \/>\nEarthlings. They resemble the creature in the vintage film, Nosferatu. We were<br \/>\nadvised that if hungry enough, they would sometimes kill and eat human visitors<br \/>\nfrom Earth, so we should be wary of them. This is the type that I encountered<br \/>\nwhen walking through the dilapidated brick city to deliver the data disk to the<br \/>\ncommunications center there. They gave rise to the notion of<br \/>\n&quot;Martian&quot; in folklore and popular culture on Earth.<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;&#0160;&#0160; The third<br \/>\ntypology, which I call Homo maris extraterrestrialis, resemble the Grey ETs of<br \/>\nthe UFO contact literature. This is the type that Courtney M. Hunt and William<br \/>\nB. Stillings and I of the CIA\u2019s jump room program encountered after I saw one<br \/>\nthat was sitting on the roof of the jump room facility called The Corkscrew<br \/>\nwhen we arrived on Mars one time in 1981-82. As I exited The Corkscrew ahead of<br \/>\nmy fellow chrononauts, I called out to them, \u201cCourt, Brett! A Grey. On the<br \/>\nroof. Observing us!\u201d They are probably the result of a branch of the Greys that<br \/>\nwas left back on Mars at some time in Martian history. It was this type of<br \/>\nMartian that is depicted in my historic image, \u201cThe Humanoid Being on<br \/>\nTsiolkovski Ridge,\u201d which I published in 2008 in my landmark paper &quot;The<br \/>\nDiscovery of Life on Mars,&quot; which is the first image of a humanoid being<br \/>\non another planet ever published on Earth.<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;&#0160;&#0160; There is a fourth<br \/>\ntypology of humanoid beings on Mars, the tiny ones that Dave Beamer has<br \/>\ndetected being crushed under the wheels of NASA\u2019s Mars Exploration rovers. I<br \/>\ndon&#39;t include this type of Martian humanoid in this taxonomy because they are<br \/>\nfar smaller than the three other typologies of Martians and us.<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>Andrew D. Documentary evidence from NASA PIA10214: Figure of<br \/>\ninsect-human hybrid The Scorpion Man (See insert) in the Turquoise Field,<br \/>\nColumbia Basin, Mars \u2013 This enhancement of an apparent Martian life form found<br \/>\non the Columbia Basin on Mars within NASA rover photo PIA 10214 is a new<br \/>\nspecies, that at first glance may grate our own Earthling sensibilities.&#0160; The documentary evidence appears to portray<br \/>\nan apparent insect \u2013 human hybrid that has been dubbed \u201cthe Scorpion Man.\u201d In<br \/>\nthe original evidentiary document containing both images and analysis derived<br \/>\nfrom NASA rover Spirit photograph PIA10214, insect-human hybrids and<br \/>\nlizard-human hybrids are among the apparent new species that appear in NASA<br \/>\nrover photo PIA10214.&#0160; In this document,<br \/>\ntwo insect-human hybrids, each with a turquoise scorpion-like body and an<br \/>\napparent flesh colored human-like head, are resting next to each other on the<br \/>\nMartian terrain.&#0160; This reporter takes no<br \/>\nposition on the biology of an insect-human hybrid, which the new science of<br \/>\nexobiology obviously must address.&#0160; As an<br \/>\nobserver, this reporter can reasonably conclude that the NASA rover photograph<br \/>\nindeed depicts an apparent new species of insect-human hybrid. This is a<br \/>\nreasonable conclusion this reporter has reached after multiple viewings of this<br \/>\nparticular image since December 2008.<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>3. Documentary evidence from NASA PIA10214: A second<br \/>\ncategory of animal species on Mars combines elements of animal species that<br \/>\ninhabit Earth at this time in its biological history and that, from our<br \/>\nperspective, are hybrids of living animal species, such as one animal species<br \/>\non Mars that combines the bodily shape of an octopus with the face of a lion or<br \/>\na dog but which is terrestrial rather than aquatic in nature.&#0160; This documentary evidence is an image enhanced<br \/>\nfrom NASA rover Spirit photo PIA10214 that depicts an apparent hybrid animal<br \/>\nresting on the Martian terrain of the Columbia Basin in November 2007 and<br \/>\nlooking toward the Spirit\u2019s camera.&#0160; As<br \/>\nin the case of the insect-human hybrid, this Martian hybrid animal is unlike<br \/>\nany animal we know on Earth.&#0160; This<br \/>\nreporter can reasonably conclude that the documentary evidence is an exhibit of<br \/>\nan octopus-like land animal, perhaps furry, with facial features that may be<br \/>\nreptilian, feline, or canine in nature. This is a reasonable conclusion this<br \/>\nreporter has reached after multiple viewings of this particular image since<br \/>\nDecember 2008. This reporter takes no position on the biology of this Martian<br \/>\nanimal hybrid, which the new science of exobiology obviously must address.<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>4. Documentary evidence from NASA PIA10214: The third<br \/>\ncategory includes reptile species extinct on Earth.&#0160; In this category we can place land-based<br \/>\nMartian species of the plesiosaur, which has often been proposed as a solution<br \/>\nto the Loch Ness, Lake Champlain, and Lake Okanagan mysteries.&#0160; A reptile with a bulky body like a tortoise<br \/>\nand a long neck like a snake, plesiosaurus is quite common on Mars but did not<br \/>\nsurvive the K-T extinction on Earth.&#0160; The<br \/>\ndocumentary evidence for this Martian reptile species is contained in<br \/>\nenhancements of NASA Spirit image PIA10214 of the Columbia Basin, Mars.&#0160; In the PowerPoint, three evidentiary images<br \/>\nof the Martian land-based plesiosaur from PIA10214 are provided.&#0160;&#0160; In the left-side image, the plesiosaur has<br \/>\nits back facing toward the Spirit\u2019s camera, so that its bulky body is visible<br \/>\nfrom the rear, and one can see its elongated, curved neck and head in front of<br \/>\nthe animal.&#0160; In the center photo, the<br \/>\nMartian plesiosaur is facing the Spirit\u2019s camera, and its head is tilted slightly<br \/>\ntowards its left, with its arching neck visible curving down towards it bulky<br \/>\nreptilian body.&#0160; The right-most photo is<br \/>\nthe image of the carcass of an apparent dead Martian plesiosaur, lying on the<br \/>\nMartian terrain in the Columbia Basin, as it was photographed by the Spirit in<br \/>\nNovember 2007.&#0160; After examination of the<br \/>\ndocumentary evidence, this reporter can reasonably conclude that it accurately<br \/>\nrepresents the image of actual living Martian plesiosaur-like animals in the<br \/>\nColumbia Basin in November 2007.&#0160; The<br \/>\noriginal research paper containing documentary images and photos from NASA<br \/>\nimage PIA10214 contains some analysis as to the reasons why reptilians like the<br \/>\nMartian plesiosaur may have survived on Mars, and not on Earth, which suffered<br \/>\na K-T extinction event.&#0160; The documentary<br \/>\nevidence supporting the existence of a land-based Martian plesiosaur is<br \/>\nreinforced by direct witness evidence of Mr. Basiago, who states that he and<br \/>\nCIA agent Courtney M. He actually called me &quot;crazy&quot;&#8230;<br \/>\nPaola Harris was in the living room with him and can testify to that, and there<br \/>\nare 15 million people that heard him call me &quot;crazy&quot; because of these<br \/>\nassertions that I\u2019m making that there\u2019s present life on Mars. Hoagland, another private researcher, be enforcing<br \/>\n&#8230; the CIA Robertson Panel recommendations of 1953 to debunk any researcher<br \/>\nand ridicule them in public if they bring up extraterrestrial issues?\u201c <\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>Webre later asked again, \u201cHow is it that Mr. Hoagland, who<br \/>\nsupposedly is a private citizen and is a researcher, can now get up and with<br \/>\nimpunity on a program that goes to 15 million people and apply the standards of<br \/>\nthe 1953 Robertson Panel?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>Intelligence attack<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>Speaking directly to Hoagland&#39;s remarks, Basiago attempted<br \/>\nto clarify:<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;&#0160;&#0160; Richard, which am<br \/>\nI? Am I crazy, or am I working in a very un-crazy way to spread disinformation<br \/>\nfor US intelligence agencies? In other words, these are two claims that are<br \/>\nimpossible to both be true simultaneously, so each discredits the other claim.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>Basiago also gave his version of the chronology of events<br \/>\nleading up to the flash point on Coast:<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;&#0160;&#0160; We had just proved<br \/>\nat Alien Event, that Mars is inhabited. And I had just called on the second man<br \/>\nto walk on the Moon, in this epoch of civilization at least, namely, Buzz<br \/>\nAldrin to evaluate our data and either affirm or deny the premise that Mars is<br \/>\ninhabited &#8230; I think this actually provoked the US intelligence community<br \/>\nworking through Richard Hoagland to attack me in the way that he did.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>Get out of the way<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>Weber elaborated more forcefully:<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;&#0160;&#0160; There\u2019s an urgency<br \/>\nto the work that we\u2019re doing. We are trying to get to the mainstream with this<br \/>\ninformation that many governmental agencies and sort of hangers-on are trying<br \/>\nto block. And we\u2019re trying to get to these space agencies and educate them that<br \/>\nMars is inhabited, such that they won\u2019t run into the cognitive dissonance and<br \/>\nstill be acting out the imperatives of the 1953 Robertson panel &#8230; The clock<br \/>\nis ticking here. And it\u2019s vital that we get this out. And it\u2019s vital that if<br \/>\npeople in the research community, like Richard Hoagland, don\u2019t transform, well<br \/>\nthen that they get out of the way.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>Other contenders<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>There have been other notable critics of Basiago\u2019s Mars<br \/>\nresearch. In a story for the Discovery Channel Website, Ray Villard, the news<br \/>\ndirector for the Hubble Space Telescope, wrote, \u201cAt a recent convention called,<br \/>\nyou guessed it, Conspiracy Con 2009, self-styled Mars sleuth, Andrew Basiago,<br \/>\naccused NASA of hiding evidence of Martian life in photos taken from the rover<br \/>\nSpirit.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>In his blog Bad Astronomy for Discover Magazine, Phil Plait,<br \/>\nlike Hoagland and Villard a present or former NASA employee, wrote, \u201cWell,<br \/>\nthere is evidence of life in that image. You can see parts of the rover in it. But<br \/>\nI don\u2019t think that\u2019s what Mr. Basiago is talking about. What I\u2019m talking about<br \/>\nis that this is just more pareidolia, of course, except in this case it\u2019s mixed<br \/>\nwith a person utterly convinced that what he\u2019s seeing is real.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In response to his critics, Basiago told the Truth Frequency<br \/>\nRadio listening audience:<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;&#0160;&#0160; Here we have<br \/>\nliterally publicists for the space agency who, when they are commenting about<br \/>\nmyself or Alfred or the Mars findings, aren\u2019t marshaling scientific facts or<br \/>\nreason, not even valid theory, to rebut what we\u2019ve been stating, but have<br \/>\nsimply engaged in snide character assassination &#8230; It\u2019s amazing that they<br \/>\nwould risk the reputation of the space agency and their own professional<br \/>\nstanding by engaging in rank disinformation, because that\u2019s what we have to<br \/>\ncall it.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>Profound suspicions<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;Perhaps the most<br \/>\nambitious remarks heard on the show were those Webre and Basiago both saved for<br \/>\nthe Exopolitics community. Citing a truth embargo against their Mars research,<br \/>\nWebre explained that, &quot;We were prohibited from presenting the Mars<br \/>\nfindings at the major Exopolitics conference, literally prohibited &#8230; And I<br \/>\nwas at the 2010 conference just recently and I was submitted to a lecture about<br \/>\nthe non-validity of these findings.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;Basiago elaborated by<br \/>\nstating:<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;&#0160;&#0160; So in this<br \/>\nvanguard of leading figures in Exopolitics, over the last two years Alfred and<br \/>\nI have been shocked that they\u2019ve not only been absent without leave. &#8230;They\u2019ve<br \/>\nnot only shown condign ignorance of the findings. [We] wish that that was what<br \/>\nit had been. Instead, they have shown this puerile hostility towards even<br \/>\nconsidering the data, as if they have somehow been instructed that when Mars<br \/>\ncomes up, stick with the Hoagland position. &#8230; Quite frankly we\u2019ve had many<br \/>\ndiscussions and we\u2019re quite mystified as to why all the major figures in<br \/>\nExopolitics have been defaulting on this issue. These assertions, absent reasonable evidentiary support, are<br \/>\nlittle more than narcissism drenched, adolescent fantasies. More troubling to<br \/>\nPRG is the fact that anyone who challenges these assertions or even makes<br \/>\nsimple requests for supportive documentation is deemed a government operative<br \/>\nor disinformation agent.
