A very real exercise in
\ncomparative exopolitics has come about simultaneously, (and perhaps
\nsychronistically) in a Russian Federation and in the United States. 
\nExopolitics in a Russian state Duma have brought Russian President Dmitry
\nMedvedev<\/a> face to face with the same set of exopolitical issues
\naddressed by the August 2010 ballot initiative for an Extraterrestrial
\nAffairs<\/a> commission in Denver, Colorado.<\/p>\n

Liberal Democrat Party
\nrepresentative and state Duma deputy Andrei Lebedev \u201cfears that
\nextraterrestrials may have compromised Russia's official secrets.  After
\nhearing a TV interview in which the President of the Kalmyk Republic,
\nKirsan Ilyumzhinov, spoke of his meeting with an alien spaceship,
\nLebedev called for instant action,\u201d according to news
\nreports<\/a> in Russia.<\/p>\n

President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov\u2019s close
\nencounter took place on Sep. 18, 1997, and Ilyumzhinov recalled it in a
\nrecent interview with TV presenter Vladimir Pozner. He stated that
\nothers \u201cmight be skeptical, but added: \u2018I believe I communicated with
\nthem, I saw them. I probably would not have believed it, but there were
\nthree witnesses: my driver, the Minister and my assistant.\u2019\u201d  ABC News<\/a> reports, \u201cKirsan Ilyumzhinov was at home
\nin his Moscow apartment when they came in and abducted him, taking him
\nto their space ship where they communicated with him telepathically.\u201d<\/p>\n

Following
\nPresident Kirsan Ilyumzhinov\u2019s revelation of his meeting with
\nextraterrestrials, \u201cstate Duma deputy Andrei Lebedev concluded that
\nIlyumzhinov had something to hide, and warned that \u2018sensitive
\ninformation\u2019 could have been passed to the interplanetary guests.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nAndrei Lebedev has written a letter to Russian President Dmitry
\nMedvedev \u201craising a list of his concerns,\u201d that mirror the issues raised
\nin the August 10, 2010 Denver, Colorado Extraterrestrial Affairs
\nCommission ballot initiative.<\/p>\n

In his letter<\/a>
\nto Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, MP Andrei Lebedev says that
\nPresident Kirsan Ilyumzhinov\u2019s meeting with extraterrestrials \u201cwas an
\nhistoric event and should have been reported to the Kremlin.\u201d<\/p>\n

MP
\nAndrei Lebedev also asks \u201cif there are official guidelines for what
\ngovernment officials should do if contacted by aliens, especially if
\nthose officials have access to state secrets.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to one
\nnews report<\/a>, \u201cState Duma deputy Andrei Lebedev doesn\u2019t
\nbelieve Ilyumzhinov\u2019s claim that he was simply shown around the ship and
\nreleased, so he has asked the president to find out what else happened
\nand report back to the Duma.<\/p>\n

MP Andrei Lebedev is especially
\ninterested in what President Ilyumzhinov may have told the
\nextraterrestrials about his job and whether the abduction has affected
\nthe governor\u2019s ability to perform the duties of office.\u201d<\/p>\n

As
\nExaminer.com reported<\/a>, \u201cIn August, 2010, the citizens of Denver,
\nColo. will go to the voting booths and do something that no other
\nearthly civilization in mainstream recorded history has done \u2013 vote on
\nestablishing an official commission to \u2018create a responsible,
\nresponsive, common sense strategy for dealing with issues related to the
\npresence of extraterrestrial intelligent beings on Earth.\u2019<\/p>\n
