The Sacramento Bee<\/a>,
\na mainstream politically oriented newspaper serving California\u2019s
\ncapital city, has begun publishing inaccurate and distorted information
\nregarding Denver\u2019s August 2010 vote to establish an Extraterrestrial Affairs Commission<\/a>. 
\nThe 2010 Denver ET Initiative vote was approved on November 27, 2009
\nafter organizers submitted over 10,000 signatures under a local
\ninitiative law.  Denver mayor John W. Hickenlooper<\/a> has been quoted as public supporting the ET Initiative process.<\/p>\n

Starting in 1953, the CIA Robertson panel<\/a>
\nfunctionally set a series of \u201crules of the road\u201d regarding the
\nextraterrestrial presence directing that any mention of the
\nextraterrestrial presence in American journalism, science, education,
\nand government be accompanied by ridicule.  The result of the 1953 CIA Robertson panel<\/a>
\nhas been two generations of U.S. professional journalists, scientists,
\neducators, and civilian government officials who are virtually ignorant
\nof any extraterrestrial presence and how to foster a public discourse
\naround it.<\/p>\n

The upcoming Denver August 2010 vote<\/a>
\non an Extraterrestrial Affairs Commission \u2013 the first such election
\nheld in Earth\u2019s history – mandates clear, accurate and impartial voter
\ncommunication and education on the issue involved in the public policy
\nimplications of the extraterrestrial presence.  There is no more room
\nfor yellow journalism about little green men.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
