“Cease Talking to the Press” University of Hong Kong Officials Tell UFO Group
HKU UFO Course Controversy Continues
Toronto Ontario Canada December 31,
2008 – University
of Hong Kong (HKU) officials have told UFO advocates to “cease talking to
the press…” about an HKU decision to arbitrarily cancel a UFO
course. The controversy at the University
of Hong Kong around its
decision to drop a planned course on UFOs has now reached international
proportions of coverage. [Asia

In a
significant turn of events, a special meeting was arranged between Neil Gould
of Exopolitics Hong Kong, a
representative from the HK Institute of Ufology and the two heads of the General Education Department at
the University of
Hong Kong to discuss
re-instating the UFO course originally committed to by the university.
In an update
to the world-wide Exopolitical research community about the meeting, Neil Gould
of Exopolitics Hong Kong stated, “The meeting was
very pleasant from their side but they asked if… the UFO Club, and I
would cease talking to the press. I told them it was impossible…”
It appears
significant public pressure is being exerted on the University of Hong Kong
by the intense international coverage of this matter.
Neil
Gould’s update further indicates that HKU officials appear to be buying
time in an effort to delay any decision about re-instating the UFO course in
the hope this will all be defused and just “blow over” in time.
Gould is
having no part of this, as further indicated by his response to HKU officials
during the pre-arranged meeting: “You have done
nothing since the last lectures except use time to delay things… I have
another appointment with a French newspaper and Hong Kong’s
largest magazine where we will fill 4 pages with issues regarding the
cancellation of the lectures and your interference with the students’
freedom.”
Exopolitics Toronto will continue in
its attempts to keep Canadian and international news media updated on
Exopolitics Hong Kong’s efforts to achieve the same academic freedom in China
that we take so very much for granted here.
